Tom Tappas owner of this business is a liar and a treat customers like dirt! This nut has my item and won't return it because I threaten him with legal action. Now he's holding my item in revenge. I hired an attorney who asked him why doesn't he send a video showing my item working and he told my attorney I had multiple numbers and couldn't contact me liar!!! Not even one star minus five stars!!

UNBELIEVEABLE CRAZY!!
I sent an item to Smart Choice Repair Center (Charley Weaver Bartender) on February 26, 2024. In early July I received a call from Tom a worker there telling me that my item couldn't be repaired for less than $500. Before I sent my item I sent a picture of my item to them and they gave me a quote of $150-$250 for the repair. I asked for my item to be returned because if I knew it would cost that much to be repaired I never would have sent it in. After not hearing from them for a while I called back on July 24, 2024. Then they told me my item had been repaired and sent me a video. After viewing the video I told Tom that my item was working a little slow and he explained that it just needed new batteries and that he would get new batteries and send me a new video. After not hearing from him again for a while I called back again on Aug 20, 2024 he then told me my item was at another location and it would be Monday before he could send me a new video of my item. After not hearing from him again for a week I call again this morning Aug 27, 2024. Tom answered the phone again and told me I called at the right time then he switched gears on me and said that the person who takes the videos wasn't in and that it would be the end of the day before he could make a video and send to me. I asked him why couldn't he just make on now while I was on the phone and he told me he couldn't because he had customers in front of him and he didn't have time. I then texted the company and asked if there was anyone else I could talk to other than Tom. Someone name Henry replied back that Tom is our manager and I would have to talk to him. I then asked Henry to call me, he replied back Unfortunately all I do is answer text messages and emails I cannot make outgoing calls. At that moment I realized that this company has either broken, lost or sold my item. I then ask that my item be returned today. Their reply was it would take two days because it would have to be sent to their process and shipping department to be sent out. I then got concerned because of their previous promises of actions that had not occurred I told them I would like a shipping code by the end of the day or I would be referring this matter to an attorney. Tom then texted back that I was threatening him with an attorney and that I could have my attorney contact him at his number. Since I've been dealing with Tom I get the feeling that a lot of people have threatened him with legal action because of the way he does business. The crazy thing about all this is Tom keep telling me my item is fixed but he won't send it to me. I keep telling him I'm ready to pay but he won't send it to me. He never return my call and always have a different excuse about my item each time I call. This item means so much to me because it was my fathers and I wanted it restored as a memory of him.

Tom is Incredible
My mother gave me a book that had a recording in it and her voice would read each page of the book. She gave me this book almost 20 years ago, so when she passed away last month I pulled the book out so I could hear her voice. The mechanism was bad and after many attempts I could not get it to work as the motherboard had gone bad. I called Smart Choice and spoke to Tom who had worked on a similar book. He was incredible, he was very attentive, stayed in touch with me during the repair process and he ultimately repaired it. I received the book today and my mother's voice is so clear. I am so thankful to him and highly recommend Tom and Smart Choice. great people.
